I need to remember to post here.

I'm sorry.
My official job as the best and only updater of this site has been lacking.

ANYWAYS.
Flower is pretty much back on his game.
Sidney is doing amazing, on-and-off tied for first in scoring.
Kris Letang is on route to his best season yet.
Malkin is a little bit disappointing.
Jordan Staal is still injured.- Skating, but still 4 weeks until back in the roster.

Currently, the Capitals are losing 5-0 to the Devils. This makes me laugh.
Leafs are winning 3-1 against Dallas.
Yeah.

Go Pens!

Sidney Crosby = Askmen's Favourite.

Penguins Crosby Ranked No. 37 On AskMen.com's '49 Most Influential Men of 2010'

Which is awesome. Of course.
Because he's just a winner, in general.

"Penguins captain Sidney Crosby’s list of awards and accomplishments is incredible for a guy who is still just 23-years-old.

Penguins center Sidney Crosby (right, with 2010 'Rocket' Richard Trophy) was ranked No. 37 on AskMen.com's '49 Most Influental Men of 2010' list. Art Ross Trophy (NHL scoring leader), Hart Memorial Trophy (NHL MVP), youngest captain to lead his team to a Stanley Cup – and those are but a very small sampling of what Crosby has been able to achieve.

You can add another one to the list because Crosby was ranked No. 37 on AskMen.com’s '49 Most Influential Men of 2010' on Wednesday. It’s the fourth straight year Crosby has earned recognition on AskMen’s list.

“I am honored once again to be a part of this list and thank all the readers at AskMen that voted for me,” Crosby told AskMen.com.

Crosby, who was one of eight athletes – and the lone hockey player – to make the list, was selected in large part because of the way he rose to the moment for Team Canada in the gold medal game at the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver in February.

With his Canadian team locked in an overtime battle with bitter rival Team USA, Crosby secured the gold medal and a 3-2 victory for his country when he beat Ryan Miller with a snap shot from the bottom of the far circle 7:40 minutes into the extra session.

Crosby also had one of his best NHL seasons, earning his first ‘Rocket’ Richard Trophy after tying the Tampa Bay Lightning’s Steven Stamkos with a league-best and career-high 51 goals. Crosby’s 109 points (51G-58A) placed him second in the overall scoring race behind Vancouver’s Henrik Sedin (112 points).

Among the familiar names Crosby finished ahead of include reigning two-time NBA champion Kobe Bryant (No. 45), acclaimed actor Leonardo DiCaprio (No. 43) and late-night mogul David Letterman (No. 39).

Based upon AskMen’s bio of Crosby, they expect him to continue gracing this list in the coming seasons: “Frankly, we can’t wait to see what he does next.”

Neither can Penguins fans."

Record: 5-3-1

(I just thought this picture was very amusing..)
Okay, so there have been a lack of posts here, and I haven't really done anything besides Tumblr.
So, the Penguins took, like, 3 games before they could win at the Consol Energy Centre.

Fleury isn't doing so well, which is really unfortunate. Currently he is 1-3.
Brent Johnson has been saving like mad, and has had 4 wins and one overtime loss.
Which is pretty good for a backup goalie.

Sidney Crosby, (THE STAR), currently has 11 points, making him the leading scorer in the Penguins and 5th out of the NHL. Don't worry, the season is still young, plenty of time for him to beat out all the other players. :)

Kris Letang is on fire! Besides his hair being exceptionally nice this season, he is 3rd out of the Penguins for points, which so far means that he is on his way to his best season yet.

The Pens are second in Standings, OVER THE CAPS, which is always amazing.

Stay true Pens fans.

Whhay Haay Haaay.

Y'all know what's coming up tonight.
That would be regular season, so today, I donned my Crosby shirt and went to school.
I only see a couple people wearing hockey shirts, which is quite disappointing.
Like, can someone please point me in the direction of the Pittsburgh Penguins fan club, Sir Will edition?
And, my arch-rival for biggest Sidney Crosby fan in this school, doesn't even wear a jersey! Maybe she isn't as big as a fan as I am.
Actually, I already knew that already. I don't see her blogging about Sid.

Anyways...
Tonight.
7:00 pm.
Consol Energy Centre.
Pittsburgh, PA.
You know where he'll be.
And you know who HE is.

Good luck to them all tonight! I hope they beat Philadelphia!

Love,
Sidney Crosby's biggest fan.

Pittsburgh Dreamin'

So, my countdown for the 9 days till regular season didn't quite work out so well.
I guess that shows how good I am with remember things and getting them done.

Sidney Crosby was out with a hip flexor injury. Apparently it is on a day-to-day basis, but seems pretty serious. Hopefully it gets better soon, because when they played without him, the Penguins lost preeeeetty badly...
Jordan Staal may be out until December with his sliced foot tendon. (Thanks a lot PK...)
Arron Asham left the game last night after two shifts with an upper body injury

Get well soon wishes to all of them.

4 days, 20 hours until the games really begin.

9 Days Until Regular Season

On the ninth day until regular season, Sidney gave to me...
Nine golden goals

The Boys are Back in Town.

Today, was the first day of Pittsburgh Penguins Training Camp 2010.

So, all the boys are literally back in town.
It was the first time most of the players had been in, and skated on the rink in the new Consol Energy Centre.
There were many great things to say about it.

Yesterday, the Penguins became public with their slogan for the first year at the Consol Energy Centre.
So officially,
Destiny has a new home.

Open practice tomorrow (Sunday)!

Four days until preseason!
(Nineteen until regular.)

On a side note,
Malkin really wants to win the Stanley Cup again this year.
Dan Bylsma says:

"I keep getting smacked in the face with that from ‘Geno’ when I ask him about what he wants from his season and what he thinks is good and bad. He thinks he had a bad season last year because we didn’t win the Stanley Cup, not because of the points he did or didn’t get.
When you talk to him about his future goals, he wants to win Stanley Cups here in Pittsburgh. I am not surprised he gave you that comment. When you have that team-oriented goal from your top guys, I think that is an awesome thing for our team.”*

I am Ridiculously Excited.

You know whats coming up soon...
HOCKEY!

Hooray! 24 days until the first regular season game.
Which is awesome. Of course.
So, regular season game tickets went on sale on Friday, and I would be super surprised if there are still any left.

Don your helmets and mouth guards, hockey season will soon be with us.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KID!

So, if you are a real, true and hardcore Crosby fan, you would know that today, my favourite Canadian hero is turning 23 today.
Ahh, how time flies.
The clock is ticking and it just won't stop. Maybe, it could pause for Sidney Crosby, so that he could stay that young for a few years until I catch up.

So collectively, let's all sing a little song that we all know.
I believe that it's called Happy Birthday?

Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday to you,
Happy birthday dear Sidneyyyy,
Happy birthday to youuu.
And many more...

So as I go to post my ballots for a meet Sidney Crosby contest, I wish you a happy offseason to my many readers.
I am not sure how much posting will be happening until late September.

Bonne offseason!

One Small Step for Crosby, One Giant Step for Pittsburgh.

So, it is official. Pittsburgh Penguins captain, Sidney Crosby and retired captain, Mario Lemieux stepped out onto the ice at the Consol Energy Centre for the first time in history.
They laced up their skates and played around with some pucks for a while.
I personally think that this is a very exciting step in the opening of the new arena.

P.S.
71 days, 22 hours and 19 minutes until regular season! :)

Anaheim Gold Vs. Silver Skit

Since I am so kind and loving I decided to put the skit from the NHL Awards on for all of my *ahem* voluminous readers out there. So, here it is:

Wednesday, June 23, 2010

Well 2 out of 4 Isn't Bad...

This is the face of a true winner...

Even though our star didn't win them all, Sidney Crosby didn't do too bad.
So, Sidney Crosby won the Messier Award (Leadership), and the Rocket Richard Trophy (Goals). I am personally not sure if Alex Ovechkin should have won the Ted Lindsay award, but ehhh, what can you do?

Now Sidney Crosby has plenty of awards on his decorated and
wonderful mantle.
(Rocket Richard, Ted Lindsay, Hart, Art Ross, Lester Pearson, Stanley Cup and Gold Medal for the 2010 Olympic Winter Games.)

My favourite quote of the night, was not even from Sidney Crosby. It was actually Henrik Sedin, saying "Daniel, now you can't say you are the better player."
It made me chuckle for quite a while.
But what made me laugh out loud was the Anaheim Duck's Gold vs. Silver skit with Ryan Getzlaf and Bobby Ryan. If you missed it, I highly recommend you looking it up.

So, congratulations everyone, see you in the 2010-2011 season.
3 months, 14 days aaaaand counting.

REGULAR SEASON!

It's been announced that the Pittsburgh Penguins will open with their first home opener in the Consol Energy Centre on October 7th!

Against the Philadelphia Flyers.

I don't know if this is a good thing yet, seeing as the Flyers are the total bad-asses that got to the Stanley Cup Finals, when it should have clearly been the Pens.
So, here is hoping that the Penguins show the Flyers who is boss and teach them that they can't get too cocky.
I am going to enjoy this game.

Even though it is in over 3 months...

Top 25? I Think So.

Sidney Crosby has been ranked number one out of the top twenty-five athletes under the age of twenty-five.
To read the whole article, it will be in the June 21st edition of Sporting News.
There is also a bit of information on the Pittsburgh Penguins website, http://penguins.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=532011&navid=DL|PIT|home

It seems that Sporting News likes Canada's newest superstar, since he was also ranked number one in their 50 greatest hockey players of todays NHL (October 2009).

Not that I'm complaining...

Three Months, Six Days.

So the Penguins' Preseason starts in three months and six days.
Officially.
They are opening with the Detroit Redwings on September 22, 2010. In the CONSOL ENERGY CENTER!
I was looking at some of the pictures, and it looks amazing! So much newer and high-tech than the Mellon.
A little change is now, every game at the new center is starting at 7:00 pm.

There are three home games this year, because of the new interest in the arena, so there are six preseason games for the Penguins this year.
I have read that Paul McCartney is performing at the opening.
How neat is that? My question is, isn't he a bit old now?

Meeh. It's alright, Paul's awesome.
So, here come the Penguins, 2010-2011 Stanley Cup Champions! (hopefully...)

The Hawks Win It

So yesterday, as I was watching the game with the Flyers against the Blackhawks, it finally sunk in. Pittsburgh isn't going to win the Cup this year.
For some strange reason, I hadn't let that bother me, and w
as still, somehow, cheering for the Penguins, waiting for Sidney Crosby to hoist that magnificent cup over his head once again.

As soon as Toews lifted the Stanley, I was devastated.
I couldn't believe it, and still, I feel upset.

Sure, I am happy for Hossa, he won. Congrats bud.
But my poor Pittsburgh Penguins...

Have fun in the Off-season! I probably won't be posting too much over the summer, unless there is some dire Sidney Crosby news!

Be warned boys, the Penguins will be back next year, better than ever.
Hmmm. Maybe the Leafs will make the playoffs. Haha. Who am I kidding?

On June 23, check out CBC or Versus, the 2010 NHL awards are on! You can catch a little sneak peak of your favourite hockey God (or star) before they grab their golf clubs and wait until next season.

I have plenty of pictures, I, personally took during game three, round one (Sens vs. Pens) of the playoffs. I will post a few here, but if you would like some more, comment!
Sorry if they are a bit blurry or sketchy...

My maaan, Crosby!

And the Nominations Keep Coming.

Sidney Crosby has been nominated for yet another award.

So far at the young age of 22, he has earned: The Art Ross (scoring champion), Hart (league MVP), Lester Pearson (best player as voted by his peers), Rocket Richard (goal-scoring champion) and a Stanley Cup title.

Now he can win another, the Messier Award. The winner will be announced at the NHL Awards in Las Vegas on June 23rd.

A Little Bit of Background Info:
"The Mark Messier Leadership Award is an NHL award that recognizes an individual as a superior leader within their sport, and as a contributing member of society. The award honors an individual who leads by positive example through on-ice performance, motivation of team members and a dedication to community activities and charitable causes. It was first awarded during 2006-2007 NHL season, and is given to a player selected by Mark Messier who best exemplifies leadership skills on and off the ice."

Awwwe. Malkin is so Sweet!

So besides Sidney Crosby, I am an actual fan of the Pittsburgh Penguins and the rest.
Malkin had an interview in Russia. He was talking about the best hockey player in the World.
He discusses Alex Ovechkin, himself, Sidney Crosby, and who he thinks is the best hockey player in the world.

No surprise for me, but, guess who it was?

Sidney Crosby.

I guess that was already know or obvious to me, but now, it's been announced. Officially!

(aren't they cute?!)

Winter Classic 2011

Wow, I know, 2011 is in quite a long time, but it has been announced.
It's in Pittsburgh this year! (At the Steeler's football stadium)
Pittsburgh Penguins vs. Washington Capitals.
Sidney Crosby vs. Alexander Ovechkin.
How intense.
But personally, my thoughts on this subject is:
a) FUN!
b) a very large cash grab for the NHL.

A sort of big problem with having the Winter Classic is the weather. It's not so cold anymore in Pittsburgh because of the whole Global Warming shenanigans. It hasn't been below freezing since 2002.
Not so good for the ice.

So here's wishing for cold weather this winter.
But, hopefully, hot weather this summer!

For all of those who don't know, it's my dream come true. Now all I need is to convince my parents to buy some tickets and drive me all the way down to Pittsburgh. Here's hoping!
